I can't find any info on this elsewhere on the forum. I have a 99 S turbo and can only get the ECU flashed whereas the 00 onwards can get re-mapped. Does anyone know if there is any way around this? I have heard of piggyback devices and have looked for info on replacing the ECU with a later model but apparently there are complications with doing that too.

99 can be reflashed (ditto 00, its 01 onwards that can be mapped), this gives the same effect as a remap (remapped ECU's are reflashed at the end or changes would be lost!), it just means it can't be 'live mapped' so the development process takes longer.

Other replacement ECU's are available, but will still cost you more!

The later ECU is totally different, you don't want to go there!
