has anyone taking the fuse block out and wired in a new 12v hot source for automatic seat for instance?

You could, but I think it would be a better idea (and easier) to run a lead directly from the battery and tapping power from that. This way, you don't mess with factory wiring (and potentially screw something up, which sucks) and you have a dedicated power tap for anything else you would like to add.

Also, if you do run a lead from the battery, it's a good idea splice in a fuse (15 or 20 amp, they're like $5.00 at autoparts stores). Good luck.
