Hi all
The name's Chris and I'm from Sydney. I've been into Subies for a while, our first in the family coming along in 1974 as a GL 4WD. A big jump to earlier this year when I went and bought a new XV. Liked it a lot - great little car. It went everywhere the Foresters and Outbacks went on a couple of trips I've done with the Subaru Club out of Sydney. River crossings, wombat holes - you name it, it went there.
Problem was that it wasn't powerful enough to tow. I also needed, as I discovered, a bit more room and I wanted more power. The XV isn't a powerhouse but, as it wore in, it wasn't a slouch, either.
So.... I've just ordered a 2013 Forester XT Premium in what the US market sells as a "Touring" pack. I took one for a spin at my local dealer and it blew me away. More creature comforts than my XV 2.0iS (top of the line) and blisteringly quick in comparison for overtaking. I hope mine (pictured - in Satin White Pearl- my favourite colour other than STi Blue) is ready to roll within the next two weeks, as finances have to be sorted out between the two. Amazing thing is that the Forester is only a few dollars a week more to finance. Can't wait. :bacon:
Anyways, great to be here
Chris
