Well, the car is starting to look different, so I figure I'd start a thread. Car was purchased with 24k miles on it sight unseen, and hasn't given me any problems yet. When I received the car I was pleasantly surprised that it came with an STI Short Shifter and STI Pink springs. I drove from San Francisco, CA to Holland, MI and In anticipation of upgrading to STI Brembos which I left back home in SF, I purchased some 2004 STI BBSes, and some 18x8 Prodrive PFF7s. The plan is to use the STIs as winter wheels, refurb the Prodrives and use those as 3 season wheels. Wound up selling the Prodrives because while they were pretty, they were heavy, and I didn't want to carry them back when I drove back from Holland, MI to San Francisco, CA.

Current Mods:
STI short shifter
STI rear sway bar
TIC shifter pivot bushings
Kartboy front shifter stay bushing
Kartboy rear shifter stay bushing
yelnats shift knob
JDM hazard button
JDM card holder
JDM look painted vent knobs and plastidipped center console
Weathertech front floormats
TIC transmission crossmember bushings
STI Group N transmission mount
STI Aluminum control arms
STI shocks and springs
Goodridge brake lines
STI master cylinder & booster
TIC rear diff mount bushings
STI rear subframe
STI aluminum Lateral Links
Kartboy rear subframe bolts
Kartboy outrigger bushings
STI shifter trim & boot
STI ebrake handle
Homelink mirror
STI exhaust
STI front crossmember
STI rear diff carrier
STI GC8 4.44 R180 Rear End w/clutch LSD
TIC shift linkage bushings
STI exhaust manifold
Subtle Solutions Rear Trunk Brace
STI hood scoop
Subtle Solutions splitter
STI BBS Silver (winter)
STI BBS Gold (summer)
moboost Rear Bar

looks to be a great find. Somthing about those Prodrives I just dont like. The stock STi or gold BBS look the best. Just my opinion.

it's a carbon fiber sti badge the previous owner stuck on. The pff7s definitely need more sidewall and bigger brakes to fill them out.

Plasti-dipped the dash
Painted the vent knobs silver
Red Hazard button
JDM Card Holder

Note: for the JDM card holder, it doesn't fit perfectly on LHD cars because the bracket it fits into is made for RHD applications, but it fits good enough.

Drove back home to SF from MI, and have been able to start installing some of the parts that I collected while I was in MI.

Driving around CA!

Ironically, I got a job in Grand Rapids, so I'll be moving back to MI at the end of the month. So I'm trying to get my Forester STI'fied (everything but the 6speed) before I go back to MI, because I don't think I'll have a garage that I'll be able to do work in.

So the mods that I'm currently installing as we speak are:

Front and rear Brembos
STI 5x114 Hubs
STI 5x114 Axles
STI 5x114 17x8 BBSes
STI lateral links
STI rear subframe
STI rear diff carrier
STI aluminum control arms
STI Brembo Brakes
STI Rotors
STI Master Cylinder
STI hood scoop
STI Group N Transmission mount
TIC Shifter bushings
TIC Diff Bushings
TIC Master Cylinder brace (we'll see if it'll fit)
Kartboy Outrigger bushings
JDM GC8 STI R180 4.44 w/Clutch diff
6Gun Racing axle adapters
Goodridge brake lines
moboost rear strut bar
Subtle Solutions rear trunk bar
Subtle Solutions splitter

And maybe some more. Here are pics of the work in progress.

Thanks for the love guys!

Tuned: what info do you want re: the card holder?
dude: I bought it from 6gun racing. they're in business afaik, and I emailed them a question yesterday, so I think you can still get em from them.

How do the brakes feel with the sti mc/bb combo? I have them sitting in the garage waiting for install and just want to know how well they mate up with stock calipers.

I'm installing brembos and I haven't run the car with the STI booster w/o the brembos so I don't know. It's not a hard install, though.

Whats the part number of it and where can I get it? Also, how much does it cost?
I need to look up part number. You can get it from Japan Parts or a Japanese Subaru dealer. Cost about 50 bucks iirc.
