Hi everyone,

So I though I'd start a journal of my 05 FXT before i got to far along modding.

I bought the Forester last week with 54,000 miles on it for 12.9 in really good condition. The car is currently completely stock except it has some really nice all season Michelen tires on it, that i'm probably going to use as my winter tires for now.

* Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 (for my summer tires)[Link]
* Wheels and tires on the car
* Tint
* Painted Calipers
* Wheel locks and Plati-dip center caps
* Importology Grill

Maintenance
* Oil Change
* Changed ATF, Front and Rear diff fluid, Engine Air filter

Mods for the near future

Detailing Products:
* Stripper Scent
* Meguiar's All purpose Detailer

Random Bits
* Subaru Wheel Locks [Link]
* Ebay special STI valve stem covers [Link]

Eventual Mods
* figure out if i can get a sports bumper on
* new head unit w/ bluetooth and GPS
* random accessories if i can find good buys
* maybe get addicted and go stage 2?

Cancelled Mods
* plasti-dip the front grill or do a DIY mesh grill (importology grill instead)

Maintenance required

I'm loving this car atm now i just got to learn the patience of detailing and i'll be all set. I will update this thread with pictures when i can. Thanks for reading.

Some cleaning products:

Stripper Scent "The smell of Success":
Smells like a combination of Vanilla and flesh .... unfortunately it doesn't have any glitter to add to the real stripper essence :Banane17:

Meguiars all purpose Detailer:

Ive read some great reviews of this stuff, you can use it on everything but exterior and windows ...

Decent car wash:

Had my first Noob issue with my foz today ..... i pull into a shopping center and hear a semi loud clunking coming from the rear of the car. If i was stopped it wouldnt clunk and as i built of speed the clunk got louder. I got out looked around and nothing was hitting the tires. I drove around again and the clunk was still happening. Since i just put on wheels the other day i start checking the lugnuts .... low and behold the rear passenger wheel was not fully affixed to the car. Got out the tire iron, tightened it up and the clunk went away. LOL.

It's not unusual for newly installed alloy wheels to loosen up after being driven on. It usually takes several retorques before I find all the lug nuts stay tight. :wink:

Just got a set of Subaru Wheel locks from Member toddlamp :woohoo: got them at a great price and shipping was fast. I give him a thumbs up as a seller.

Now I'll Polish these bad boys up and probably put them on when i go to paint my calipers in a few weeks.

Got these ebay special tire valve stem covers for 4 bucks so i said why not, they even have a little locking piece so people can't steal them as easily.... unless they have a pair of pliers laying around ... lol

Wow .... i just realized how dirty my wheels are ...... they need a bath

And one day i will have money to do power mods :icon_redface:
