Hi all,
I fitted the Forester STi specific 'pink' springs today on my freshly regreased struts
The rear 3-4 coils (the tightly wound lower part with lower spring rate) appear to all be touching with the car stationary, as seen in this pic:

Does anyone else run these springs & can comment as to whether this is normal? I'm wondering if it is just this set i've got which have sagged over time.
I would have expected these coils to touch over minor bumps but have gaps while stationary; otherwise why are they there!

That's normal and they are called dead coils.

The springs look good after all those years, really impressed with the quality of them!
