Nosying about the car as you do & I found this single wire connector left disconnected behind the drivers side kick panel on my 2004 Forester STi:

The wire is black with a blue stripe.

Does anyone know what it's for?

I had that same connector on both my99 s turbo and my01 s turbo. For the life of me I can't remember what I found it out to be....

AFAIK it will be for coding keys to the OEM Subaru Keyless Entry system and should be left disconnected.

Wire colours B - Black; BL - Black with BLue stripe

Is there a source for that image you posted? I don't think i've seen anything approaching a wiring diagram for the JDM STi forester before.

Those are from the MY04 European Manual.

I doubt if you'll see anything for the FSTi specifically.
