Took delivery of my new '06 FXP last Friday and was sad to find the dealer had installed their logo plate on the front bumper, leaving drilled holes in my virgin plastic. My state doesn't require a front plate and I don't care to adorn my bumper with decoration. As I was 1100 miles from home and just off a one-way flight, I didn't raise much stink. The more I think about it, the more I can't hardly live with it. Is there a way to fill the holes and repaint the bumper so I don't have to do a full skin replace?

http://www.ipdusa.com/productscat.aspx?CategoryID=1764&NodeID=5453&RootID=1414 check this out it would look real nice up on the front. If it weren't illegal for me to have a front plate I would have one of these.
I've got one of these: http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/fastwrx_1886_143884066

The only downside is, the ends will be sticking out somewhat because the Forester bumper is rounded and doesn't have the built-in plate holder like the Impreza does.

Looks like this:

I went to a car joint (AutoZone, maybe) and found some pop-in plugs for my two FXT holes and painted the plugs with touch-up to match the bumper. I found metal plugs that fit well and are quite flat, so there are these two little things there but they're not too obtrusive.

And I had Pleiad7's gadget on my STi, having bent it to fit the bumper pretty closely. It looked sharp on the silver car; don't know about other colors, though. HPH

I have the SubieSport cover on my '04. It's made of brushed stainless steel and looks nice in my opinion. Also, since it's steel, I was able to bend it a bit to fit almost flush with the bumper.

cheers,
Scott
