Well at least we know the new Forester Wilderness will have a front camera! I hope that front camera and engine hood blackout decal will be available as an accessory for my '21 Sport. Love the new grill as well.

I imagined the looks of the new Wilderness Forester to have the similar body gladding of the Outback as well as the 17" wheels, 1" lift and departure and approach angled bumpers as a measurable change but nothing really outstanding combustion wise. Lower gearing is a new feature that makes sense as well as a CVT cooler. The only feature I would like to have is the front camera. It's not a necessity just a "nice to have" feature. That said, so glad I bought my '21 Sport trim two weeks ago when one came available because who knows how long I would've had to wait until I could get a Wilderness in my hands - not without paying premiums on it.

ALTHOUGH...... I was driving back from Las Vegas this morning and got a warning on the dash that turned off Eyesight along with all the features that go with it as well as the Vehicle Dynamic control. My Subaru app lit up as well telling me I've got an unhappy Forester and I should head to the dealer. Not real confident with only 800 miles on the ODO. Got an appointment tomorrow at the dealer to see what's up.

But it may be just a single bad reading from a sensor that can cause all of that to go nuts. Because of how all those systems (ABS, Eyesight, Vehicle Dynamic, etc.)
o_O with all the late night reading I've been doing on this site and about some random emergency breaking comments with Eyesight had me a little nervous when the display lit up like a Christmas tree in the 70 mph I-15 semi-rush hour traffic - yeah, it was a OHMIGAWDIMGOINGTOEXPLODE moment . The only good thing is that it is repeatable and doesn't go away when I turn it off and turn it on like my Honda CRV used to do with the Infotainment system. It used to go haywire and I had to pull over and turn it off. It was so random (and annoying) that I could never take it to the Honda dealer and show them.

@kiwisubienoob I agree with your statement however IMHO the only reason (for some) to buy one is that it is "Subaru Tested & Approved" for warranty purposes (the raised suspension or CVT oil cooler or example). I only say this because Subaru has, in the recent past officially allowed accessories such as Roof Top Tents (within the guidelines of their weight limits) to not void the OEM warranties. I love that about Subaru.

I'm impressed. Especially with the increased towing capacity. I guess the standard engine is strong enough and all it takes is different transmission/gear ratios and cooling. Secondly, I assume no changes to the body to assist with the increase towing capacity so I wonder if the Tongue weight will increase to 300 lbs. (10% of the towing capacity) or remain at 150 lbs. As you have read I know very little about towing. :D

Here's a question about measuring the ground clearance between the Wilderness and other trims. At what location on the underside of the body do they measure the distance to ground? Certainly can't be the Differential because that should be identical with most Foresters trim levels because the tire diameters are almost equal. For example, the OEM wheels and tires on my Sport are 225/55/18 whereas the Wilderness are 225/60/17. Just curious.
