Greetings,

I have two quick questions about the Forester vs the Outback...

1. Why is the Outback rated to tow 2,700 pounds and the Forester only 2,400 pounds?

2. Why does the Outback have 225/60/17 tires and the Forester have 225/55/17 tires? (I am aware this is a small difference)

-Thanks

For tow rate you should try look at engine option and car weight.

ill take a stab at it... forgive me if i sound retarded.

the wheel base of a car has to do with its towing capability. since the outback is a bigger vehicle than the foz it makes a little sense.

the foz is based on the impreza where as thee outback is the legacy. the impreza is much smaller than the legacy so smaller tires would make some sense.
