Newbie to the forum, please be kind 😯

My Forester XS Premium has a noise (repetitive knocking) coming from engine and not sure if this is normal? I’ve never really listened to it that closely.

Would anyone be kind enough to help diagnose and steer me in the right direction?

By no means do I consider myself an expert, but it sounds like a pulley... and the intermittent, squealing noise could be related to the A/C compressor. Mine makes noises when the compressor kicks on because I need to replace the clutch on my compressor.

My ‘15 just started doing the same.
I’m waiting for the tow truck. Blinking check engine light with message “emissions systems need to be checked”. And “vehicle dynamics control system needs to be checked”
