Hi All,

I had bought Forester 2019 in early Nov and i was promised i will get delivery by year end or max early Jan.
But yesterday i got a call that i will get delivery around early february.
My sales guy told me let me know if i can do anything.

I don't know what i can ask here.
Since the contract is already done, i don't know what more bargain can i do here.
Accessories etc?

Any advice here

You have no "CONTRACT" and you can back out and get 100% of your money back at any time regardless of what the dealer tries to tell you. In addition, you can bargain up until you're sitting in front of the Finance Manager signing papers:wink2:

Interesting. Did you order a Sport?

I was able to modify a Touring that was already earmarked for my dealer and was told last week in January, but haven't heard a peep about anything yet. I assume it takes give or take 10 days to go from Japan to the port in Baltimore, so was sort of expecting an update.

Use that to your advantage! But remain extra nice...😉

In the late 1990’s I had ordered a specific regular cab 3/4 4x4 work truck. GM went on strike a week or two later. Since the vehicle was to be for work, time was money. After the delivery date went by, the dealer offered me $500 off for every two weeks I waited. A call to GM customer service a few weeks later netted me $2000 credit if I held. I HAD to have this truck.

After almost two months, they (GM) offered me a fully loaded crew cab one ton that met my specifications at less than the price for the original one ordered. It was shipped from Colorado with 11 miles on it. (I’m in Ohio)

It got the job done in style!

Definitely just ask to see if he can throw in an accessory for your troubles of patiently waiting past the original deadline. I'd just pick out some accessory with a sticker price of $100 or less. Usually if it's just something like wheel locks or different floor mats, they'll usually give no resistance. In the US, you can also slide in that it'll go a long way to helping you to give them a great survey rating after delivery.

How flexible are you on color/packages, etc.? If they think you're walking on it to another dealer for an available vehicle, they may find a way to sweeten things up or try a trade? Have you placed a deposit (and firm pricing, etc.)and gotten a VIN for a specific vehicle or just some "You're in line for our next Sport?"

I have placed a portion of the deposit. I have not got the VIN yet. All I got was your car has been shipped and i will know the VIN when it arrives.
I asked for some xtra accessories, i have not got a confirmation on that.

>>> i will know the VIN when it arrives. <<< I got my vin number on 19 sport as soon as it was selected to build. Not sure how long that was, maybe less than a month.

Phone call ordered and gave a $500 deposit on 1/5. Haven’t got a VIN yet either? Saw a news article about a Subaru plant line shutdown scheduled for a week due to a defective steering component?

I factory ordered 2 Touring models on January 9th. Estimate for delivery was late March. I picked up the first one March 13th, the second one is still due in late March.
Communication from Subaru has been sparse.
BTW I love the car, moving up from 2015 Touring.

Anyone know what the current expected delivery delay is in Australia?
One agent told me to get my order in as soon as possible as there was approx 4 month delay in delivery.
I have heard that many other cars have much longer delays.
Thanks,
Allan
