And maybe some X/T fans also. STI Forester concept in Japan. They sneak a quick shot of the front of a different orange trim possibly turbo (hood scoop) Forester at the very end.

Is it me or is the black backseat center headrest odd?

Just found another Sport variation It's the Forester X-Break.

Odd? Not so much. It follows the black center of the seat. I think a white headrest would be more out of place....

I do think the more interesting one is the one at the very end.... Maybe designed to look [and be?] more of a rally inspiration...

I looked at the headrests another way. The two white headrests were on top of the black centers of the door seats. To match it seemed to me to need a white headrest on top of the center black seat. Oh well, One man's ceiling......

Here's the Orange one. The X-Break Kaddis AR4. Me like a lot.

Agree on the Kaddis modded one... Very sweet.... that is kind of the route I am trying to take with my 2014 2.5 Limited. That sporty "off-road" vibe that is still quite capable and comfortable on road... The "rally on Sunday, work on Monday" model.

As for the center headrest versus the outer headrest, by having the inner Center headrest black it tends to not draw attention to it. By having the other outer headrests white to match the side trim of the seats and on the door panels, it gives the appearance of the rear seat being buckets instead of a bench. While safety requirements call for that rear center headrest, in reality and in most places that rear center headrest is never used.

For example, my rear seat armrest is always down as I almost never carry more than four people... Hell I rarely carry three people and my dog... My dog's car seat is right behind my driver's seat.

And while I'll agree with you that it does look out of place to some, for most people it will give them the impression of for bucket seats.

Not sure about that front end - it would really change the market point for the Foz... it would look more tough badass off-road look ... not a bad thing.

Like those x-break wheels....
