Hi All,

I just completed the iPod install in my '05 FXT and also bridged the ground wires between the cig. lighter and the headunit chassis ground. Since then, I've noticed this problem:

The "security" light on the dash double blinks at all times that the key is not in the "on" position. Does not matter whether door are locked or not. Also, the car will "beep" once for lock and twice for unlock but the parking lights no longer flash.

Any suggestions on troubleshooting?

Thanks!

Sounds like you've got it in vallet mode. Check your owners manual for the different modes. It'll explain further...

Thanks, Wraithy!

That was it!

I just hate it when dumba$$es like I was waste bandwidth by not RTFMing, but I was well convinced that that ground wire bridge or the recent ECU reflash I had that caused the problem.

Wanna shot at extra credit? the wire that I tapped in betw. the two grounds did not eliminate the high pitched (RFI?) noise the iPod passes along when the turbo spools up. What gives?

Thanks, again!
