Hey all, my 2014 Forrester 2.5 started really running poorly after about 130,000 mostly highway miles. She went through oil from a very early age, but thats fairly normal, change every 7k or so and top up in between. Finally, she would barely run. A compression check showed close to 0 psi in the #2 cylinder and about 50 PSI in #4. these are both on the left side. Its amazing she was running at all. I thought maybe there was a ringland problem as is the case in many of the FA motors. Admittedly, I drive the vehicle very hard most of the time.

So the options are: buy a new Subaru $$$$$$, look at a used one $$$$, look for a low milage junk yard engine with no history and possibly run into the same problems $$$, or undertake a rebuild $$.

What do you think would be best?
