I have a 2007 Forester. My car alarm started going off randomly tonight. When I investigate, the interior light will be on and the dash is showing a door ajar light. I can get it all to stop, using the fob to unlock the car.
I've tried slamming all the doors, the rear lift and the hood. A couple of hours later, it does it again. In a previous bout with this, the open door light would come on even while I was driving.
I would try to clean the switches and maybe spray them with WD-40, as someone suggested elsewhere, but I can locate only what I think is the rear lift switch.
Does anyone know a trick for learning which door is to blame?
Would briefly disconnecting the car battery do any good? Replacing the battery in the fob? Help, please.
