so
i want a new exhaust
stock is just too quite for me
i can't hear my rpms...
and i hate it
i want something thats deep in tone
something kinda grunty
but something not too loud

i'm driving a 99 forester L
any suggestions or links would be great

The cheapest and best IMO is to find someone selling a 2004-2006 FXT catback. Take it to a muffler shop and have them chop the front mid pipe flange off your stock pipe and weld it to the FXT. Should cost no more than $50-$80 depending on the shop. Once that's done it's perfect bolt up. Sounds good but not obnoxious or droning on the highway. It's a little louder than a stock FXT because there's no turbo impeller blades getting it the way of the the boxer rumble. You may also feel a slight increase in torque and HP.
