Cobb CBE WRX fitment onto FXT problem!!

aight so i just got finished installing my Cobb CBE from an 07 wrx onto my 05 fxt... i bought 3 kartboy XL hangers but the exhaust tip is RIGHT ON the bumper... like the whole top tip of the exhaust is totally touching the bottom of the bumper...

does it matter that the exhaust is from the wagon version of the wrx? i also only used 2 exhaust hangers cause the one near the cat is longer than the kartboy XLs.. n the other hanger behind the box doesnt match up to the FXTs.. has this happened to any1? n do they sell hangers longer than the XLs? i dont wanna have to bend the hangers on the Cobb CBE in case i wanna return the car back to stock in the later later future.. thanks

btw... the exhaust sounds NIIIIIICE! exactly what i was lookin for... not annoyingly loud... but has that beautiful boxer rumble with bass you can feel in the ground... n its not too loud inside the car either... i have to admit i like the Cobb exhaust note better than the TurboXS one... dont get me wrong.. i aint bashin... the TurboXS sounds nice too... but it was the Cobbs sound i was lookin for..

so any help appreciated.. thanks

**OH and does any1 know the parts numbers for the 2 bolts that use the springs to bolt the cat up to the downpipe? mine snapped so i got temp bolts on em for now

Napa sellls some exhaust hangers that are longer than the Kartboys. Part number 35719.
As to your other questions it's normal not to use the third hanger, and it doesn't matter that it's from a wagon.

I don't know the p/n for the other bolts you're looking for but you can always check out Welcome, Subaru fans!

I only use extra long hangers on the back 2. You Probably will have to pry down the rear hangers to get your tip away from your bumper. This is pretty normal....at least in my experiences.

The Napas are pretty long. I don't know if they have others that are longer that would work but I doubt it. You probably won't be able to use the 3rd one unless you move the hanger.

The napa ones add a 1/4" more clearance. My Maddad tip touch the bumper skin with Kartboy XL hangers, but had perfect clearance with the NAPA ones.

there is no need for the 3rd one. The exhaust is a lot lighter than stock, and using the two end hangers is plenty to keep it from swaying around.

I'm guessing you're using a WRX fitted Maddad?

I have the full maddad turboback from my WRX and was hoping that with the NAPA hanger I'd be good and clear! Any pictures? How sunken in is the tip?

Thanks!

I picked up a 06 STI cbe and installed on 07 FXT with the napa exhaust hanger 35719 but found it too long. I have a oem hitch. I went back to napa and found 35229 and the fit is perfect for my installation. With the 35719 I lost an 1" of ground clearance near the differential. With the 35229 I'm back to stock clearance. The overall fitment of the 06 STI exhaust is perfect. About ~ 1/4 shorter than the stock FXT exhaust and the sounds suits me. See pics

Soooo.....

Could I acquire a 05 STI Cobb TBE, stroll to NAPA and get the same sweet
setup for my 07 FXT?

or

was that a Subaru OEm STI CBE? (can't quite see from the photo)

My setup is as follows. Cobb catted downpipe, 2006 STI midpipe using the stock subaru exhaust hanger, 2006 STI axleback using two napa 35229 hangers (the third hanger position on the axleback is not used).

I just applied an 06 sti catback to my 06xt and it was not as easy as I thought it would be... My car has the trailer hitch and it took a bunch of fabrication work to get the muffler to fit. I had also purchased the extended mounts from napa which were still to short with the trailer hitched attached.

With the extended bracket I had to torch out part of the hitch mount and heat up and bend the bracket on the sti exhaust to get it centered in the hole that is cut out of the bumper... I dont know what the difference would have been... The guy who ended up installing it is a store manager of a Midas.
