My ECU got wet and is toasted, I can’t find the exact used part number for replacement for the 1G 22611 AG391 I can only find a 1G 22611 AG392 what’s the difference and would the 392 work for my 2002?

Generally speaking in regards to ECUs you must replace like for like. The only way I see the "392" working for you is if Subaru superseded the part number. You will want to contact a dealer with your VIN and see what they say. You don't have to buy, but they should be able to tell you which unit will work.

Curious, how did the ECU get soaked?

So I contacted the dealership, they were clueless and just wanted me to bring it to them. I purchased the 392 and it works like a champ!!!! Long story short the car rolled into a pond cause I didn’t pull the E brake hard enough.
