As above, I have a 5lt bottle of oil which I opened 1.5 years ago and only used around 0.5lt of it so there is about 4.5lt left in the bottle now. Ever since it has been stored in a dry place, would it be OK to use the rest of it now?
I would think so but just doublechecking :)

Oil does not ever expire. The additives however will only last so long. They can only "grab" so much debris from the engine with the additives before they expire. The base oil can be recycled.

theoretically oil that hasn't been used will not expire, but if there is any chance that contaminants have gotten into the oil then you'd best not use it.
oil manufacturers will try to tell you it expires to prevent people from stockpiling when it's cheap.
+1..you are good.
