Sorry to sound Dumb. I only just got my S turbo in Nov and have never looked around at others.

I would like to upgrade to a newer lower mileage one in the next year or so.

My question is:

what are the different types of Uk foresters you can get, Spec engine etc?

I love the Turbo ones and know they have changed to a 2.5ltr but thats it.

which ones are best and so on

Just to give you an idea, my local Subaru Dealership has a 2004 Forester 2.5XTn in grey with black leather interier and built in Sat Nav with 13000 miles selling at £18,950.

I saw a few XT or some thing like that with a scoop 54plate for 14,995 at Tileys in Bristol. Do no Turbo Foresters have scoops. about 20,000 miles on the clock.

As I said not looking just yet.

Any points of intrest to look out for when getting a newer forester/

I think that only turbos with the intercooler have a scoop so no scoop = no turbo!

Don't forget MY2003-2005 XT's were 2.0 , not 2.5

I'm pretty sure any forester prior to MY06 model with a 2.5 engine is an import.
All other UKDM foresters were 2.0 N/A and Turbo Variants.

Are we sure about that chaps - when I was looking for my FXT last year I was definately looking at MY05 2.5 FXT's as well as MY06's - the difference being the new front end and hike in power to 230ps from I think 215ps before through higher compression and removal of the pre turbo cat..

I had the dilemma of getting a well specced MY05 with sat nav, moon roof etc but in the old shape or a MY06 FXT with just leather, in the new shape, but with 17" wheels and more power..

...unless I was dreaming !

You are correct, completely forgot I also looked at MY05's with 2.5 engines.

And i bought one. I know it was nearly a year ago as i've just had the "pleasure" of taxing it.
