Looking at a used 02 WRX 5-spd. I know the gear is different from our 4.44 gear, but is there anything else? Where would I look? Might make a good core to slap some better gears into if it'll bolt on. I vaguely remember that Subaru changed to a wider gearset at some point but I don't know when that was.

I know the ratios are different but if you're changing gears, it don't matter. Don't know how they would match up to the 2.5 and the 4.44. NASIOC has a sticky with tranny ratios in the driveline forum.

5th 0.738,

Final 4.444

02 wrx Gear ratio
1- 3.454:
2-1.947:1
3- 1.366:1
4- 0.972:1
5- 0.738:1
FD3.9

The FXTs OXT and LGT have wider cut gears like the old STI ra trannies. Thats why they are considered reinforced over the wrx tranny.

Why are you putting a wrx tranny in your XT?
