Sorry for the delayed response...

Yes, had it for 6 weeks now. Sailed through its Mot and been running great since. Fitted an H&S back box, so it sounds like a proper Subaru now :smile2:

Also put a new air filter in and had the oil changed with some fully synth Fuch 5w 40.

Fingers crossed for some trouble free driving!

Mine isn’t in the good books at the moment, but its not really the cars fault.

Radiator went, but they all do eventually. Had a full Cambelt kit done at the same time since it was ‘exposed’.

Then had my first ever cracked screen. Thankfully they managed to supply a screen with the heater elements under the wipers. Only a £75 excess to swallow though.

On a really bad note, it’s now developed a serious whine from the gearbox. Had the oil changed and it looked like it had never been done before, so down to neglect I’d say. Gearbox is coming out next week and the specialist thinks it’s the front diff. Bracing myself for a 4 figure hit, especially if the clutch needs doing as well.

All this in just 3,000 miles.

However, while it was up in the air I had a look underneath. It’s absolutely mint - not a spot of even surface rust, so well worth persevering with some pain. Just hope luck improves after the box is done!
