So my wife's 2016 2.5i manual Forester has developed a creak sometimes when the clutch is pressed and depressed. Car can be running or off and the noise appears. From Googling I "think" it may be related to the clutch slave cylinder sitting on top of the engine, under the intake tube where it enters the intake manifold. Other than the noise the car drives fine and clutch engages fine.
I found this site which applies to an older Impreza but it's a similar idea compared to her Forester so I might try cleaning and lubricating the rod that moves in and out and see if that does the trick.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this creak and if so what solved it for you?
