So after driving my car lastnight, I got to my destination and I thought I'd check my oil. The moment I pulled the dipstick out the engine purged. That is bad, having pressure like that inside my engine is going to blow seals out.

Is it a bad PCV valve?

The PCV valve is specifically designed to prevent this from happening. So, you might start by checking it.

After removal, try shaking it. Did it rattle? If yes, it should be good. If not, replace. Better yet, replace it ... period. It's a relatively inexpensive part that can cause a lot of mischief it doesn't work properly.

Check your rubber hoses while you are at it.
