Crankshaft position sensor

Had the code after buying the XT which was cleared but returned today, so ordered a new crank position sensor from ICP for £100 (part 22053AA052) as it appears to be an easy DIY, but wanted to verify its location in the engine bay.

Can anyone confirm whether it is immediately behind the oil dipstick on the 2.0 XT secured by two small bolts?

Many thanks

Well i post the answer in the event of someone wishing to know.

No this isn't the crank shaft position sensor it is the TGV and a right PITA to remove and worse still to re-install ensuring the spring is loaded correctly before rebolting and taking 45 minutes to work out you can only do this by removing another bolt below the TGV first.

oops my mistake. I'm after location of the crankshaft position sensor code PO335 rather than the TPS, which appears to very similar/same as the TGV.

sorry Don

Many thanks :icon_biggrin:

At least i've learnt a bit more today about how to fit TGVs and established that my code reader i bought 5 years ago works with the XT.
