I had(have?) three cracks in my windshield. I submitted a claim with insurance and they said they'd get it fixed. Of the three cracks one of them is now a black spot instead of a crack, and one that was small is now blurred all around it. Is this normal for getting them repaired? I've never had a windshield fixed before, I thought it was supposed to look like it did before the cracks, not worse.

Hard to say without seeing it but the resin is what you're seeing likely with the blurring and it's possible the black spot instead of a crack just has to do with the refraction of the light now that it's filled.

I would be happy with the repair, the key issue that they have totally stopped the cracks or stars damage from continuing to grow. Please don't worry about the side effects of the resin used, you have the benefit of still having the original window factory seal with no air leaks, noise, vibration from a full windshield replacement.
