In changing the timing belt, I removed and of course emptied the radiator.
What coolant and if needed conditioner should I use to refill ?

@Frank_Bama the use of the Subaru recommended Coolant Conditioner (SOA635071) Conditioner has generated some heated discussions, as has the addition of Red Line WaterWetter, but I can tell you we have both in our Forester coolant, installed by our trusted dealership shop. :wink:

From the '99-'02 FSM:
B: FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT
1) Fill engine coolant into radiator up to filler neck
position.
Coolant capacity (fill up to “FULL” level):
MT model;
Approx. 6.0 (6.3 US qt, 5.3 Imp qt)
AT model;
Approx. 6.2 (6.6 US qt, 5.5 Imp qt)

CAUTION:
The SUBARU Genuine Coolant containing antifreeze
and anti-rust agents is especially made
for SUBARU engine, which has an aluminum
crankcase. Always use SUBARU Genuine
Coolant, since other coolant may cause corrosion.
