So I just picked up a set of lightly used 2009 WRX tires; Dunlop SP Sport 01 225/45/R17 Summer tires.
I am currently running 2008 WRX tires; Bridgestone Potenza RE92a 205/50R17 All seasons. They have about 1/8th" of tread in the middle (or 1/16th above the treadwear indicator bars), and barely 1/16th of an inch on the edges.
I'm really itching to put these on, they'll be my year - round tires here in Cali, and they're 20mm fatter than what I have now. Would it be wiser to wait and wear away another 1/16th of an inch and make these tires really bald, or just go for it and enjoy it?
Also, Do I over - inflat my tires or just really enjoy throwing the car into turns?
Well compared to those all-seasons, these are a summer tire, and an extra 20mm wider. I notice they're quieter and hard corning is through the roof. It kinda exemplifies the fact that my struts are almost 100K mi old. Pics to follow.
Mine wear like that too, if anything I may under-inflate them a bit. What was your air pressure cold?
I know everyone always says there is no snow in San Francisco, which is true. But, there is actually alot of snow in California. I save my stockers with Geolanders for the snow.
Haha yeah drove out in August, My [now] fionce is going to med school a bit north of SF. Stopped by the Salt Flats too! And even if there isn't much snow, Lake Tahoe is only 3hrs from me, and I wish I had my snow tires!
Hi.I love my new Forester 2020 Sport!
We'll be going to Mammoth in the snow twice a month this winter. I know the owners manual says no chains. I'm going to need to carry the cable chains.
Can anyone recommend the exact manufacturer. model number and size of what would work? And won't void my...
Hello,
New to Subarus and bought my first, a 2019 Premium in Bronze, on January 1st. Planning wheels, tires, and lift kit from ADF or LP. I have done a lot of searching on the forums for anyone that has installed the 235/65R17 size tire to see if they fit, but found nothing so I took the leap...
Hi guys. So I've searched and searched some more through the forums and internet in general. I've seen people talk about 235/70 16's but I can't seem to get a straight answer as to if they will fit my forester. My forester is a 2003 xs and I'm putting a 2" lift on it including trailing arm...
Anyone have experience yet with the new Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail? Couldn't find any info on here with a search. Looks like it was just recently introduced later this year and was designed specifically for CUVs (and is the OE tire for the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road).
Highly considering for a 2019...
I’m considering buying snow tires and a set of 17” wheels for my 2019 Forester Limited, which came with 18” wheels. The front disks are larger than the ones on the Premium model, so I’m not sure if 17” wheels will fit. If so, can I put 17” wheels without pressure sensors on it in the winter...
