I've noticed the air in my 2010 is quite cool when cranked full cold with no AC. It almost seems like it's too cold to not be AC'ed. :) Has anyone else experienced this?

If you have it set on the defrost or defrost/floor setting then the A/C is on even though the A/C light's not on. Maybe that's what you're noticing?

I do have it on defrost/floor! Thanks for the tip. I'll never trust another light again. :)

The a/c dehydrates the air, which helps a lot in getting rid of the condensation on the windows. So, the compressor turns on when the computer tells it to, not when you tell it to. Kinda sad, because I love the air movement of floor/defrost :(

Are we talking manual controls or auto climate? With the auto climate setup, whilst demist positions call the A/C to be on, the light *does* come on and you *can* switch it off again. The user controls override the computer.

In this case, I'm referring to manual controls. I have manual controls in my Forester.
