Hi guys.
Yep, I'm in Ireland and yes, road tax is based on engine capacity up until 2008 registrations.
However, I bought this car from stevem and I need to register it for the first time in Ireland. In this case, we have the pleasure of paying VRT, which is based on CO2 emissions.
We have to pay a percentage of the 'open market selling price' (weird price determination by the govt) as tax.
The rates are
here.
Chances I'll only save the 4% between 36-32% but better in my pocket than theirs.
There is a listing for a JDM SF5, 1990cc @ 214g/kmm but the SF5 Turbo has no value so it defaults to 999g/km.
On the non-JDM side, there is a listing for an SF5 S-Turbo, 1994cc @235g/km.
Have a play
here and have pity on us poor souls over here
