Hi,
I'm new to Foresters but not to cars in general and have experienced a marked increase in clutch pedal free play in hot weather and prolonged motorway driving. I initially put this down to degraded fluid, purged the system and replaced with new DOT4. Pedal action was then normal but the fault has returned ( we have been enjoying seriously elevated ambient temperatures lately). Normal pedal conditions return overnight - cool again. Has anyone had similar experience and if so what fixes. I am considering a slave cyl overhaul - are repair kits available?

Clutch Freeplay

Had exactly the same problem with my 2001 Forester S. Its a worn clutch slave cylinder. No rebuild kit available so must replace slave cylinder. My peddle now works like new. Dont forget 2 new washers for the banjo fitting.
