The Car Talk guys once said that they could drive across the country in third if they had to. Yes, a bit of an exaggeration perhaps, but it once worked for me on a drive of a couple of miles. Of course you first need to get the pedal back up and the keep it there. And do a good job of clutchless shifting into neutral when you have to stop.

A deep contingency plan, if all else fails.

I've driven my 52 Dodge truck across town from cruise night by floating the gears. The clutch decided it wasn't going to be a clutch that day. I guess that is an option.

Did you resolve this? The clutch fork may have failed. That happened to me on my Outback. The fork failed, pedal went to the floor, and there was no spring back. Everytime you replace a clutch you should replace the fork, its only about $25.
