100 mile drive but might be worth it.

2010 XT Premium, new. MSRP $27,190. Selling dealer agreed to honor Subaru Guaranteed Trade-in value of $17,675 (MySubaru.com) on my 5-speed manual base model 2009 Forester 2.5X. I only paid $19,578 for it in Oct 2008. Last communication with them the rep indicated they might sell below invoice on the 2010, how much below I don't know. They sent me a scan of the invoice and it shows $25,552, which matches Kelly Blue Book reported invoice price.

On a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being getting skinned and paying MSRP+ and 10 being so cheap you avoid cops on the way home because you practically stole it... where does everyone thing this deal ranks?

They told me they sold it 20 minutes before I got there. No more XT's in inventory. They then said they could dealer-locate one and have it brought there. But the price might not be the same.

So that is 200 miles on my odometer I wish I had back.

Tell them to dealer locate one and give you an OTD price on it and you may be pleasantly surprised, good luck.
