Had the Check Engine light on my 99 SF5 model S and was told I need to replace the MAF sensor; I replaced the sensor and the car drivers better but the Check Engine light is still on. Do I need to clear the sensor? Instructions and help on how to clear is appreciated before I bring it back to the parts store for another reading.

@Jvanhoe -
It is pretty handy to have a scan tool.
I bought one from OBDCOM Diagnostic Systems for ALL vehicles quite a while back (laptop version) which now sells for $88, but for a couple of bucks more, they have a stand alone device.
I can't tell you how many friends I've saved from a dealer visit, just because they forgot to close their gas cap and got a CEL.
You can see any stored codes and clear them, as well as look at a lot of diagnostic displays in real time on the car. (Not while you are driving, of course)
It's well worth the money.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'll go to the parts store and pick up a scan tool and check the ECU instructions.
