I went to the site, very useful but doesn't say how wide the interior is, just cubic volume, Thanks for the reply,
Can someone out there with a forester tell me useful hauling stories, such as half a sheet of plywood, or...???

Foresters are badly handicapped in carrying things like plywood by the one piece lift up tailgate. It makes it very awkward when you have something that sticks out. My first edition CRV does a lot better than our 2010 Forester for this.
