My auto transmission just went out in my 2000 subaru forester. I have a lead on a 03-04 subaru forester auto tranny and engine with only 60k on it. Is it possible to do to this swap or should i look for a 2000 transmission.

If not, what other transmissions and engines are 100 percent compatible with my car?

The transmission I have found is numbered TZ1A3ZC4AA-1B, if that helps.

I think it'll work as long as it's not from an 04 XT (first model/year with direct control 4EAT).

anyone know if a 06MY 2.5i 5MT will work on a 01MY SF?

Check gear ratios and if it's a push or pull style clutch. (If the slave cylinders are in the same place, they are the same) If the gear ratio is different (I believe it will be) you will need to rear diff too.
