2015 Forester 2.5i Prem. manual 6 speed
My 2015 Forester 2.5i Premium has manual tailgate. Handle is recessed now, is not as easy as it was in my 2007. Can I get this changed to a power tailgate?
This.It is not worth whatever the cost is anyways, they are slow and occasionally glitchy.
We use ours almost exclusively. Love it. Especially the 'memory height' function which allows me to mount the roof-top cargo box where I want it (rearward) and prevent the hatch from hitting/breaking the box.It also is glitchy, slow, and all around pretty useless.
I only use the power opening when I am walking up to the vehicle with a shopping cart, so the gate is open when I get there.
We mostly got it so my girlfriend doesn't have to open and close the tailgate manually, though, with hindsight, we could probably have lived without it. While it is slow, I just press the button as I'm walking to the car, so it's already open when I get there. It also is glitchy, slow, and all around pretty useless.
^ what he said. Im inpatient, cant wait for the thing to open or close. Just too slow for me, and dont want to deal with the motor going out after extended use.I do not care for the power rear gate on my Forester. I see it as a future problem and actually am not happy with how it performs. Just my thoughts.. Good luck in what decision you make.
Thank you for your response. I had not seen this thread and had asked my question in a separate thread that was merged into this one.Possible? Yes, of course. Practical? We've talked about it a bit, and the consensus is that is would be a lot of work, and not inexpensive.
Hold the button on the exterior, just above the license plate. Tapping it will open with power, holding it will just unlock so you can open manually.I have a XT Touring with the power liftgate. Is there anyway to open it manually?
The trunk is used primarily for my dog. In the case that his tail is sticking out of the opening, is there any way to stop the trunk from closing while in motion?
