With everyone recommending Camskill as the place to buy tyres and Falkens as the ones to get, I have one question that is buggin me from going there.

The Falkens on the site 215/60/16 only have H speed rating and not a V as recommended in the car handbook. The only country that fits a H tyre is Australia as far as I can see. Someplaces say that fitting a lower speed rated tyre could invalidate my insurance if I have an accident.

Has this speed rating difference put anyone off from buying this tyre. It does have an XL sidewall rating though? which I believe means it has a slightly stiffer side wall?

Whats the forums opinion in this matter.

cheers

the 2156016's are only in H. check out the Falken site.

Falken Falken ZIEX ZE912

also for tyres checkout this site. He checks to make sure he's cheaper than camskill.

215/60/16 99H Falken ZE912 2156016 99H | All New Tyres

also 215 55 16's are V rated.

215/55/16 97V Falken ZE912 new tyres 2155516 97V | All New Tyres
Maybe a bit of a dumb question, but I've always gone like for like with new tyres. If I go for a 215 55 16 isn't that going to make the car sit lower, because of the reduced % of tyre width to side wall height. How will this go with the other mechanical side of things?

while you are at it you could get some 17'' alloys , anything subaru 5x100 pcd will fit (what year is your Foz?) ....will improve handling and looks for a start , loads on ebay normally , just wait a week or 2 and you will see them getting added after xmas when people need to clear all their garages out to pay for all their over indulgence

Wheel / tire size calculator / comparer - RIMS-N-TIRES
At this time is just a normal Y 2001 T-Turbo with original alloys (which are starting to show their age) and look like the 2nd picture in your link and 215-60-16 tyres.

I would just upgrade to 17" wheels, that way you can fit 225/50/17 with V rated tyres which are only £64.20 on camskill...

If you stay with stock sizes (as I do for insurance purposes), it'd be worth trying your local independent tyre fitters. I had 4x Kumho Ecsta 215/60-16V fitted for £200 by my local indie earlier this year. Seem decent tyres and behave pretty well in the recent snow too :)
