Hi all,
I just bought a 2010 Forester yesterday with 48 miles on it. I noticed when I got home that the front right brake smells like it's burning.

I'm thinking this is just the new brake pads settling in? Have any of you experienced this and do you all think that's probably what it is?

The next time you have that burning smell, carefully touch the outside of each wheel with your hand, if there is a big difference on one of the wheels, you may have one corner that's binding up and you should get it checked.

Car will smell for a while when it's new, give it some time for parts to wear in.

My 2015 did this too. Was speeding at 160 and then there was traffic so i slowed down (Obviously). Then, when i got moving again i smelled a very strong smell of burning in the car! I was not even letting the air from outside go in. Even at 10000 miles. So it's not the problem of setting in.
