Notice - with the recent site upgrade, my Member Journals have been seriously messed up! The "Table of Contents" links are "hit or miss," but the posts can still be located by the "Post #" shown on the link.
The Table of Contents for my Member Journal can be found on ► Post #124. This thread keeps growing, so to make it easier to navigate (skip over the chitchat), I added a Table of Contents with links to the main posts.

Thank you for taking the time to look over my Member Journal, or MODding Journal, as I call it (literary license). Your comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome. Post them here or send me a PM.

June 29, 2009 - The beginning!

First, thanks to Ian, @Arthrogrian19, for helping me find my next project, Forester. I'd been looking for over a year for my next project, Forester. It's way newer than I wanted; I had my heart set on a low-mile '04 XT. Of course, I spent more than my budgeted amount, but who could pass on a low-mileage '07 Forester Sports XT in WRB!

After contacting the seller for details, with check in hand, my son & I drove up to Shoreline, WA (North of Seattle, WA) to look over the Forester. The Forester was parked in my driveway before dark!

The '07 FSXT is not perfect, being preowned, but with just a bit over 21K miles, it still smells like new (detail spray?) & runs perfectly. It's 100% stock, with the exception of a set of Kumho tires the dealership just installed.

I wanted to get more pictures, but the camera batteries died & the backup set let us down. :frown:

Okay, on to the pictures, with me thinking... what to do first! Perhaps that should be what to do second since I just ordered a set of floor mats from Jackie, @SubaruPartsGirl, a supporting vendor here on the forum.

Bobby...
Below are the first pictures of the Forester taken at the dealership.

Here's how my retirement project looks now! You'll have to look over my Member Journal for all the details.

Thanks!

Nothing wrong with your PVC intake pipe. It's nice & smooth, great for passing air with the least amount of resistance.

Power MODding may have to wait a bit... I may have a chance for a set of front blue STi seats & I want those more than more power.

LOL. I knew you'd be getting those seats!

You can't let Alex have all the fun, now can you?
Every time I sit in the '03 with the STi seats, it reminds me how deficient the seats are in the '07. :frown:

Come take a ride in my Stg II XT or Andy's Stg III XT and you might change your mind. :icon_wink::icon_eek:
I didn't say "no" power MODs... just want STi seats first.

We both have WRX one-piece seats so that might not help anyway...

You know once your butt has been on STi seats, there's no going back.

Bobby...
'04 STi seats that went into the '03X.

Definitely! The STi seats would go great with WRB of course so I wish I had a set. But I got a smokin' deal on my WRX seats and they're not half bad. :icon_cool:
You're fast! :icon_eek: You quoted before I cleaned up the Photobucket link!

Did you transfer the seat heaters & the weight sensor on the passenger seat?

Wow, jealous buddy. I want STI seats so bad!
Thanks for the link! There are so much information here on the forum, that it's hard to keep track of it all! :icon_eek:

Those seats look great in your Forester, a perfect match.

Don't sit in STi seats & you won't know what you're missing.

04-07 WRX seats are identical to 04-07 STi seats, just the material is different. 02/03 WRX seats are even BETTER feeling, just not a pretty.
I almost scored a set of WRX seats out of a 2006...guy flaked on me! I hate flakes.
Smooth has 06 WRX seats. They are a great match for the Forester.
x2. I can post a pic if you want...don't want to spam Bobby's journal. But yes, the two-tone WRX seats match the FXT interior perfectly.
You guys are always welcome to post on my Journal.

I agree, the two-tone WRX seats would look great in Brian's (Tuned200) silver Forester.

As for me, it's got to be blue STi seats... unless I can score a killer deal on a set of two-tone WRX seats!

'05 STi seats it is for my Forester! I just bought a set of mint condition '05 STi seats, still bolted in the vehicle. Nonsmoking & no food allowed in the vehicle. They're being shipped from the East coast, so the final inspection will be when I receive them. :icon_eek:

If you're wondering. Yes, they were expensive, but IMO, they're worth the cost (to me).
