I'm new to Subarus (last one owned was a new 1986 DL hatchback) and I just bought a 99 Forester.

I'm from the world of VW where the official manuals made by Robert Bentley were what we bought to know how to get around the car and sort stuff out. We didn't bother with the Haynes and Chilton manuals much.

I need to replace a knock sensor and would like to know where it's located etc.

Is there a source for 'official' service manuals for the Subaru, specifically the 99 Forester?

Thank you for the reply. Are there publications available for purchase that are less harmful to the wallet? I generally read the manuals in my spare time to understand how everything works in case it breaks, that would be expensive if I had to subscribe....
