Not my Forester, but our 2017 Legacy has started seeping acid out of the caps on the battery. The car only has 9,000 miles and the battery is the factory original one.

Is the dealer going to give me a hard time about just replacing it under warranty?

So the dealer looked at the battery and told me that the amount of acid it was leaking was "normal", and they would not replace it. Then Subaru sent me a survey through email asking me to "rate my experience". I relayed what I was told, and now the dealer is replacing the battery
