I'm having bad luck with parts being back ordered =(
headlight and bumper now a bumper absorber/jdm spec no Styrofoam.

Our bumper absorbers seem to be a metal crush bar instead of a Styrofoam in the non xt foresters.

The dealer kept sending my body shop the n/a bumper even according to vin number. As well they keep noting that XT foresters have a strofoam bumper absorber, which is not true.

According to the shop its a metal crush bar. Since the car is new a lot of computers don't have the part number for it.

Just to give you guys a heads up if you have a body shop order the parts.
It sucks but my car should be done soon.

So this is what happened when you get side swipped by a cabbie running a light in nyc and then running off.

so this bumper beam got crushed and so happens this is the part not available to get my car up and running again.

it seems like there is no stryofoam so maybe our xt are japan specs?

dunno, but I'm intrigued to see how different the inner fender/A-pillar area is compared to the SH. No bolted-on stiffener...

plastic bumper cover

metal bar / styrofoam

enegry absorber

behind the energy absorber

beam then energry absorber and plastic bumper (order of parts)

----

So they figured out that it was not a stryofoam energy absorber. Had to 3-way car with
SOA and the dealer to confirm. The dealer kept sending the same part number

577 22sg020
saying it was a Styrofoam piece.

But SOA said it was aluminum and steel.

Well I finally got the part this morning after dealing with them on the phone for an hour and hopefully my car will be done Saturday!

Would you know the part number for the XT front bumper?

I'm hoping later down the line I could fit one on my N/A.

Thanks!

I'm glad your car has been restored to pristine condition - my vehicle, however is still in the shop, waiting for back ordered front end parts (since the last week in November!). When I get the car back, I intend to put a grille/brush guard on for additional protection. I notice that you have a gorgeous setup on your front - can you advise on where you found that guard (I have been searching online and have not seen anything close to yours)? Thanks.

All the trims are done with cf vinyl 3m. Its adhesive tape.

My fogs are a yellow film to protect it from shattering.
