i want to know what computers are used when the AWD kicks in to 50/50 mode. like does the ECU retard the timing to lower hp to get traction, does the TCS put most the power to the "gripping" tires?

and also does the AWD system go off of the ABS sensors like most vehicles

5MT or 4EAT? 5MT is a constant "mechanical" AWD, 4EATs are more electronic but vary in operation with different years.

I'm pretty sure ECU has no idea what gear you are in, so I doubt it retards or advances timing based on what the diffs are doing.
