I'm not seeing any indication that the autodimming function is on or off. If I press the compass button, the compass turns off or on.

If I press the Mirror button, nothing changes. I've tried covering the hole on the windshield side and shining a flashlight into the cabin-side sensor, and I can't see any dimming.

Can someone tell me what indication there is that the autodimming function is active or not?

I noticed it being a lot darker at night when looking through the mirror then as the sun comes up you can gradually notice a difference when looking at the cars behind you. Haven't tried testing it to get it to change quickly but I started with the normal mirror then added this so I could tell right away that it was working.
