Auto Stop/Start System ► feature discussion ONLY (merged thread)

I thought I posted this earlier but I cannot find the posting. Sorry if I doubled up

It is my understanding that the 2019 Fozzie Touring has an auto shut down feature. Does anyone know if it has a defeat or shut off feature.

► Edit - Administrator's note - this thread is for Auto Stop/Start "feature discussions" ONLY!

The "technical discussions"... how to disable this feature, can be found in this thread: Permanently disable Auto Stop/Start - technical discussions ONLY (merged thread)

Had mine since January I believe. Works perfectly.

However, in regards to the Auto Start/Stop: Yes, it is OK to disable it.
I have the Auto Start/Stop Eliminator I purchased for $80 and it has worked flawlessly.
All it does is remember the last setting you used in the car.
For instance, once installed, just push the button to disable it and it will remember that forever or until the button is pushed again.
You can always activate it just like normal if you choose.
Just to clarify, it does not "permanently" disable the feature.

I hope this helps.
@VAer

The one called Autostop Eliminator is the one I have.
Does not permanently disable. It just remembers the last setting.
I turned mine off and have not turned it back on.

As mentioned you can, of course, just push the button each time you start the car to disable.
I personally found that to be a pain in the rump as I would usually forget and would prefer it to just not be on, period.
$89 is not that much money in the scheme of things.

Glad you got it done....now enjoy!
It's personal choice.
I find the feature disconcerting after 47 years of driving.
I do not want my engine to turn off each and every time I stop.
I added the Start/Stop Eliminator back in February and have never looked back....

I don't want to have to think about anything. I just want to drive and have my engine "not" shut off.

@Shilo

To each his own. It's a matter of convenience and it works for me, and I'm not alone.

Absolutely! I've had mine for 6 months or so and it has never failed.
My car has RAB so the unit mounts under the seat. Took about 2 minutes to install.
I highly recommend it!
