I thought I posted this earlier but I cannot find the posting. Sorry if I doubled up

It is my understanding that the 2019 Fozzie Touring has an auto shut down feature. Does anyone know if it has a defeat or shut off feature.

Dan

Yes, on the left side near the power hatch button, SRH disable, blind spot disable buttons, etc.

This isn’t Subaru’s first foray into stop-start. In your center console of a 2014-2018, that blank spot opposite of the x-mode? Yea thats where stop-start disable button goes jn AU/UK whatever markets have it.

USA didnt get stop-start, rear seat heaters, nor height power adjustable passenger sear.

You can, at least when you turn on the car, but does it reset every time you shut it off? I don't have it on my '17 XT-T, but I have the I/S/S# modes that do reset every single time. It is annoying. I wish there was a way to set it to S. Yes, I know I went off-topic a bit, but the idea is the same.

I've been living with the start/stop for the last five years in my AU NA Foz's, no biggy, a slight adjustment of brake pressure keeps it from turning the engine off, definitely not a deal breaker for this little black duck when looking at the 2019 Foz :smile2:

As I understand it every time you start a trip in the car you can deactivate Auto Stop/Start by pushing a button on the lower left dash. There is no way to permanently deactivate it. This annoying "feature" is a deal breaker for me.

This feature is not on the 2018 Forester's correct?
Auto Start/Stop is not on any 2018 Foresters sold in the US. Some confuse "Auto Start/Stop" with "Push Button to Start/Stop". Push Button to Start/Stop is on some 2018 Forester trim lines.

You cannot just deactivate. The manufacturer gets credit for installing these type devices to meet CAFE standards. It is required by design to get the credits that the system must reset after each power cycle to default to "on". Subaru cannot legally support a "work-around" regardless of how loud you complain.

Someone may be able to hack the system and defeat, but it hardly seems worth it. (For the record, I dislike it, as well, on every vehicle that has it.)
