Hi guys im from philippines just recently bought forester xt '14 i want to activate my audible sound when lock/unlock any help? And also can the seatbelt chimes also can be deativated? Please help thanks guys

Regarding the lock/unlock sounds, if there is not an option in your multi-function display to change it, your dealership will be able to program it.

Ok. Your dealer should be able to change this setting for you using their computers.Only hazard warning lights can be on and off no audible sound

Monday, my dealer remove all the sounds when locking, unlocking, confirm, gate problem...
21 $, easy to do for the dealer. we can't do it...
Your dealership will have to program that for you, Tommy.
I have the same XT EDM unit as the OP here in the Philippines. Our MFDs do not have that audible signal feature / option

I am wonder why MDF software is different between USDM and EDM, is there any way to reflash or upgrade the MDF software/firmware?
Because my Subaru delaer is 1 hr drive so I am thinking if I can have a Subaru software to set these functions/features by myself :biggrin:

sorry for digging this old thread but I am still looking for this feature enable on my FXT 14,
I called my dealer but no help from them.
If anyone has had it done, please kindly share your experience? could it be enable via computer subaru scan tools?

Does your vehicle have the beep (audible sound) module installed? It should be behind the bumper cover on the left hand side. This is the only reason why I could think that you do not have the option on your MFD and the dealer can not help you. There is a photo of it here:

thanks for digging the old thread :biggrin:. kinda a new to this forum, and never realize this thread/feature. I have a 15 xt premium
I did not notice I can disable the beeps when lock/unlock button is pressed. Followed these instruction from the manual and did it less than 5 min.
sorry, can't help on the seatbelt chime. I grew up with buckling seatbelts... so... there is no need for me to disable that...
I have the EDM version built 2012/11 and there is a beep module there... So I'm guessing this is a software thing. I will call my dealer tomorrow to see if this can be changed. (Boy are they sick of all my questions):biggrin:
