They can be, and they can either be "better" or "worse" than the tires you would buy at a tire store. I'm not sure if Subaru has Subaru specified tires as does Porsche and BMW, but you can buy a "N Spec" Porsche Tire or you can buy the exact same make model size tire that's not a "N Spec" Porsche Tire. Will there be difference ... who knows.
